Exotentreffen 2013
On Saturday 14 September 2013, a large number of special motorcycles and their riders gathered at Verpleeghotel Bovenwegen. Despite the bad weather, the interest was encouraging. Guests of the nursing hotel were also more than happy to take a look at all this power between the showers.
Of course, the presence of a Van Veen OCR 1000 was very special, which had come all the way from England for this occasion. We were also surprised by a number of German motorcyclists with their special bikes.
Around half past twelve, the signal was given to 'start the engines' to set off. The first stop was made in Spakenburg via nice country roads and dikes, where everyone enjoyed a fried fish or cod!
After this stop, steam was set in the direction of Nijkerk to the steam pumping station "Hertog Reijnout". Due to the fact that it was Open Monument Day, the pumping station was under steam! Very nice to visit such a monument with classics.
Afterwards, despite the rain, we headed for the BBQ location in Huis ter Heide. Fortunately, it was dry by then and it stayed that way the entire evening! The hamburgers and bacon were quickly consumed, because playing outside makes you hungry!
The participants and the organization look back on a very successful event and have immediately set the date for next year! Saturday, September 13, 2014
