Exotentreffen 9 september 2023
It was a glorious morning as motor enthusiasts from all corners of the country gathered for an unforgettable motorcycle gathering. The weather gods were kind to us, with a clear blue sky and a warm sun that warmed the day. It was as if heaven itself had decided to spoil the motorcycle community.
The location for this special event was the beautiful Zonnehuis in Doorn. Upon arrival, the motorcyclists were greeted with a warm welcome and live music, provided by talented artists who call the Zonnehuis their home. The atmosphere was immediately cozy and relaxed, and it was clear that this was not going to be an ordinary motorcycle gathering.
The parking lot quickly filled up with an impressive collection of motorcycles. There were exotics of all shapes and sizes to admire, from roaring turbos to mighty six-cylinders. Unfortunately, the Wankel engines were missing this year. One of the stars of the show was undoubtedly the Johammer, a futuristic electric motorcycle that attracted attention like a spaceship on wheels.
The highlight of the morning was the award ceremony, where the residents of the Zonnehuis themselves chose the most beautiful motorcycle from their perspective. In addition, the Nestor of the meeting Johan Kole, together with exotic expert Cok van de Heuvel, chose the most beautiful original exotic and the most beautiful custom motorcycle. The radiant smiles on all faces and the sincere appreciation for the beautiful machines made this day extra special.
After the award ceremony, the tour through the breathtaking forests of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug began, with a real Yamaha GTS1000 at the head. The winding roads and lush nature offered the perfect environment to share the fun and freedom of motorcycling with like-minded people. From the meadows around Achterveld to the picturesque dike of Amerongen to Wijk bij Duurstede, every bend and every piece of asphalt was an adventure in itself.
Finally, the motorcyclists arrived at the BBQ location, where the hospitality of Michiel and Marloes was central. The conviviality knew no time and all motorcycles were critically discussed. The smell of delicious barbecue filled the air, and everyone enjoyed the tasty meal and refreshing well-earned drinks. The stories of the day were shared and new friendships were forged.
The motorcycle meeting was a great success, not only because of the beautiful motorcycles and the wonderful weather, but especially because of the warmth and solidarity that prevailed among all participants. It was a day to cherish.
And so, as the sun slowly set and the motorcycles were driven home satisfied and content, it turned out that this year's motorcycle meeting was again not just an event; it was a meeting of passion and friendship on two wheels.
The next edition will be on September 7, 2024. Mark it in your agenda!
